Let your greatness out
Get the reps in
You've got to be a spud before you can be a stud.
I remember walking into Planet Fitness the first time at 21.
Now, PF isn’t exactly known for being home to intense weightlifters.
But I still remember a TON of trepidation about using the free weight section.
I didn’t want to look like a fool in front of the “experts” bench pressing just the bar.
So, I stuck on the machines and treadmills until I built up the courage.
It took me a long time to realize that fortune favors the bold.
It favors the quick.
Those that are quick to try something new and get the “fool-looking” phase out of the way.
Because, the fact is, nobody walks in to the gym and crushes a 405 lb deadlift their first time.
You've got to start with the 45 lb bar. Doesn't matter what others think.
Every single master out there in every field has been a spud at first.
They just didn’t let that inadequacy feeling get in the way of them breaking through to the next level. They got the reps in.

Getting over your fear of looking ridiculous will catapult you to the top.
The other fact I learned is that people aren’t thinking about you anyway. They are either thinking about themselves OR focusing on their craft.
As an experienced weightlifter now, I promise I am not judging the newbie lifters in my gym. If I am paying attention, it’s so I can offer help or encouragement.
So, try that new thing. Get in the room full of experts and try something new.
You have greatness in you.
It’s like a water spigot. You have to run the water for a few minutes to flush the stagnant water through before the fresh stuff comes out.
Get the reps in.
