How to find a rich mentor
Step-by-step
I have multiple mentors worth millions of dollars that are running 7-8 figure businesses.
Here’s the step-by-step playbook I’ve used each time:
Find a skill that rich people need (hint: they are interested in making more money)
Get good at that skill
Create an offer with that skill that solves this person's problem
Pitch it to them (ideally through a warm intro)
Do an AMAZING job and get them results
Ask for advice during meetings (1 question max per session)
Implement in your business/side hustle (immediately)
Share your results
They'll see you are serious and start offering more help
You now have a "mentor."
Don't call this a mentorship though. Anything with "-ship" on the end insinuates a formal agreement. This will drive people away.
And don't wear out your welcome. Only ask for advice 1-2x a quarter, max.
During all of this, don't stop creating value for this person.
All relationships are 2-way streets...
The quickest way to tank these relationships is to take-take-take and never give.
At the end of the day, to find a mentor, be the kind of person that people want to be around:
teachable (listen and learn)
proactive (implement what you learned)
energetic (bring energy and don't take)
Do this stuff, and eventually people will be looking to you for mentorship.
To your super success,
Swanagan
