Castles and content

Dinosaur-like killing machines

As you create content online, you are building a world.

But you can also think of it as a castle.

And every castle (any self-respecting castle anyway) has a moat.

Your moat is your unique advantage that keeps away competition.

It separates you from the sea of other creators.

You have a combination of life experiences that NO ONE else has.

You are totally unique.

And this will come through in your creations.

Your perspective will shift and break down information.

And it will have your distinct imprint.

This is the moat that no one can cross.

It is a protection against copycats and mediocrity. Your uniqueness is the equivalent of alligators. When you write with your whole personality, copying you online will be like crossing a moat full of dinosaur-like killing machines.

So even when you use a template, a proven framework, or repurpose a viral hook, it sounds like you.

Because your perspective and artistry will shine through.

But you first have to build the moat.

You have to be self-aware to figure out your unique edge.

Do reflection exercises at the end of each day.

Convert that into unique lessons that can be shared with an audience.

Make it personal. Use storytelling, actual examples, and tactical insights from your experience.

Then iterate based on what works, and drop what doesn’t.

This is the way.
